So, in keeping with true "money pit" form, the removal project has exposed more PO remuddling boo-boos.
When attaching said overhang to the house, POs decided to chop off parts of the original exposed rafter ends.
How do I fix this? My husband claims no one else will notice once it is painted. I notice though, and I hate it! There has to be something I can do. I have thought maybe a pergola that attaches to the ruined rafters might look okay. But again, I am at a loss...a loss for words and a loss for ideas.

Anonymous person - whoever you are, thank you so much for that link! I have read a little bit of their blog but I guess I missed that part.
darn those P.O's...I hate when people take the easy/crappy way to do things....like affixing wall sconces with duct tape....I wish you much luck...but have no ideas to help....
Melinda,
I've noticed your comments over at I Heart Faces and my wifes blog. I design homes for a living and have a few ideas on some remedies on your issue. Drop me an email and any other additional pictures so this doesn't get to lengthy.
Thanks so much for commenting on my Babysitting blog post. :) Hope you have a great weekend!!
